2022 Snail of Approval Annual Awards

There were 10 recipients of the 2022 awards in our Slow Food Berry to Jervis Bay area. We would like to congratulate the following businesses:

We grow heirloom vegetables adopting sustainable and traditional farming practices.

Grown beneath the stunning escarpments of Australia’s most beautiful Kangaroo Valley, our olives are lovingly handpicked individually and processed naturally, using traditional methods to preserve their natural flavour and essence.

We source the finest local, fresh and seasonal ingredients. We pickle, ferment, brine, cook, knead, bake and serve naturally the best house made deli produce we can.

Our hatted chefs will never lose their enthusiasm to cook beautifully plated dishes. Weekly changing dining events await you.

At Hampden Deli, we are constantly changing our classes. We offer skill based favourites such as bread making, charcuterie and handmade canapes. Come get motivated with new dinner party menu ideas and Stevie’s favourite- last minute pastries!

Far Meadow Table is a cooking school, dining experience and catering service in Berry on the NSW South Coast, just two hours south of Sydney. A tree-change and food dream brought to life by husband and wife team Kath and Iain Smart, who have created a gourmet oasis just five minutes from the centre of Berry.

We buy from local farmers in the Shoalhaven and South Coast Region. We know the farmers we purchase from and we only purchase free-ranging, grass-fed, sustainably farmed and ethically reared animals.

Based in the beautiful town of Berry, we provide a fresh and personal catering service for weddings on the NSW South Coast from Shellharbour to Jervis Bay, including Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa, Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Nowra.

Lyrebird Ridge Organic Winery and Retreat is a small organic winery situated on 40 acres of bush land only 20 minutes from Kangaroo Valley, 25 minutes to Berry and 20 minutes from Nowra.
Coming to our property means having a break from the everyday connection to technology. There is no internet, phone or television reception in our accommodation.
